How to Say the Days of the Week in American English 👍

Recently I did a lesson on pronouncing the months of the year and in response a lot of you wrote asking for help with the days of the week as well.

So in this lesson we’ll be perfecting your American English pronunciation of the 7 days of the week.

Let’s dive in!

Practice words and sentences used in this lesson:

/'mʌn deɪ/

I think he’ll be back on Monday.

Tuesday

/'tuz deɪ/

Election day is on Tuesday.

Wednesday

We’ll be meeting again next Wednesday.

Thursday

/'θɜrz deɪ/

Thursday afternoon is pretty open.

Friday

/'fraɪ deɪ/

Are you free this Friday?

Saturday

/'sæ (d)ǝr deɪ/

I’ll see you on Saturday!
